Maria Stecker
Maria is the Senior Program Officer, Grantmaking. In this role she leads the grantmaking team and serves as part of the grant evaluation team. She is a primary point of contact for potential applicants and grantees, and works to shepherd nonprofits through our responsive grant application and funding process. Through this work, we aim to understand each organization, their current context, and their request.
Previously, Maria worked in education, serving in roles at the Delaware Department of Education, Community Education Building, and as a Teach for America corps member, teaching science in Wilmington.
Maria is passionate about the work that nonprofits do to improve our region and enjoys learning about it throughout Longwood’s grantmaking efforts. She likes to visit our area’s many cultural assets with her family and is actively involved in her local church.
