A Leadership Cohort Program for Mid-Stage Nonprofit Executive Directors
Catalysts Together by Longwood Foundation is an innovative leadership and capacity-building program that invests in nonprofit executive leaders as the catalysts to strengthen their organizations. Created in collaboration with nonprofit executives, this year-long pilot program equips leaders with the experiences and tools they need to run healthy, sustainable, and mission-driven organizations. Together, with their peers, leaders transform themselves and elevate their organizations to enhance the quality of life for all in our region.
The application for the inaugural cohort is open! The priority deadline is August 11, 2023, and the final deadline is August 22, 2023.

Catalysts Together focuses on harnessing the power of peer-to-peer relationships to significantly influence and grow regional nonprofit leadership. The program incorporates numerous features that enrich the Peer Forum model while simultaneously catering to the unique needs of each leader and their organization.
The learning experience provided by expert facilitators builds the infrastructure for lifelong learning among peers. Moreover, the program connects nonprofit executives with the skills, tools, and network to run healthy, sustainable, and resilient mission-driven organizations. You will leave this program a better leader with an accelerated vision for organizational success.
Monthly Peer Forums
Led by a facilitator, experience a structured and trusted space to confidentially share your challenges with your peers and get game-changing feedback.
Leader and Organization Assessments
Set meaningful goals for yourself and your organization. Confidential assessments help you discover where you are in this moment of time enabling you to use the information to focus conversations, goals, and progress.
Crave accountability? Professional coaches will provide tailored and targeted support to help you maximize your program experience.
Convenings and a Restorative Retreat
With dedicated time to step back, connect and rest, you will build a deeper connection with yourself and changemakers in the region.
Intensives: A Topical Learning Experience
Alongside your peers, you will do a deep dive to build proficiency in a specific organizational capacity-building area, such as financial acumen.
(Optional) Capacity Building Wallet
You can opt for this financial incentive to explore other avenues of capacity-building development that are critical to your development.
(Optional) Catchafire: Skills-Based Volunteer Matching for Your Organization
You can opt into one year of Catchafire, a third-party platform that connects everyone in your organization to a national network of volunteers who are ready to assist with your organization’s projects and needs.

The Catalysts Together program experience supports executive leaders with what they need most.
Longwood Foundation will underwrite most of the real value of the Catalysts Together program which equates to approximately $40,000 per person. In return, we ask for your time, effort, work, and commitment to leverage this program to strengthen yourself and your organization. The pilot program fee is $3,500. Limited scholarships that reduce costs to $1,750 are available for organizations that have budgets under $1,000,000 and demonstrate need through a scholarship application.

You will also be responsible for some direct travel and travel-related costs:
- Transportation by car to the overnight retreat
- Transportation by car to monthly peer forums and convenings (in New Castle County, DE). Travel stipends may be available.
SAVE THE DATES. Catalysts Together is a 12-month pilot program designed to maintain an ongoing peer network. Unless noted, all activities are in person and mandatory. Candidates must attend the following events:
- Monthly Peer Forums (Every 3rd Wednesday): CSC Station, 112 French St, Wilmington, DE 19801 (subject to change based on cohort vote)
- Executive Coaching: Virtual
- Program Kick Off (October 18, 2023): DuPont Country Club, 1001 Rockland Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803
- Overnight Retreat (March 20-21, 2024): To be determined; We anticipate the venue being within a two-hour radius of Wilmington, DE.
- Closing Convening (September 18, 2024): To be determined
