Grant Information Sessions for Prospective Applicants
The sessions are not intended to be a grant writing course, but rather to help applicants understand what the Foundation is looking for in a proposal.
- If your organization is a brand-new applicant to the Longwood Foundation, you must attend an Information Session before you can attend a Pre-Meeting. Many past applicants have found that the Information Session helps them better understand the Longwood Foundation, determine when to apply, and create a strong proposal. While new applicants can request a Pre-Meeting before attending an Information Session, the Pre-Meeting will be scheduled for after the Information Session you register for. It’s important to note that we also accept grant requests from new organizations that choose not to participate in the Information Sessions or Pre-Meetings. Attendance at these sessions is NOT required for grant requests unless the request is for $500,000 or more.
-
Maximum of two seats per organization and we request those attendees be the organization’s leader and Board Chair. If not available, one of the two attendees must be the leader or Board Chair.
- Due to space limitations, preference will be given to nonprofit organizations that are eligible to apply in the next funding cycle (Spring 2025).
- Please be aware that there is a pre-session “homework” assignment that is a requirement for attendance. If you are unwilling or unable to complete the homework by the due date, you will not be able to participate. This is a firm rule since the session discussion is based on the results of the assignment. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email containing the link to the assignment.
- Please note that participation neither improves nor harms an organization’s likelihood of receiving funding; however, participation has proven to result in stronger grant proposals.
